    All-Time Teams: Central Division

  • Sep 23, 2010 from zkatkin(Zach Katkin) in Business
zkatkin Imagine if teams could combine players from every generation to form the greatest starting lineup in franchise history.
The only problem is, some teams have so much talent, how do you really choose between Jerry West and Kobe Bryant as the starting shooting guard for the Los Angeles Lakers?
A new feature from ESPN.com enables you to decide the ultimate starting lineup for your favorite team.
While the site allows for players to be selected on multiple teams (Shaquille ONeal is available for the Magic, Lakers and Heat) for our voting, each player may only be represented on one team.
Heres how Shatter The Glass voted for the five teams in the Central Division.

Artis Gilmore has been overshadowed by the Michael Jordan-era Bulls.
    -Chicago Bulls
    Years active: 1967-2010
    Playoff appearances: 29
    Championships: 6
    MVP Award Winners: 5
    Michael Jordan 5x (1987-88, 1990-1991, 1991-1992, 1995-1996, 1997-1998)
    Starting five choices:
Center: Tom Borewinkle, Bill Cartwright, Artis Gilmore
Power Forward: Horace Grant, Bob Love, Dennis Rodman, Orlando Woolridge
Small Forward: Luol Deng, Toni Kukoc, Scottie Pippen, Chet Walker
Shooting Guard: Ben Gordon, Michael Jordan, Reggie Theus, Jerry Sloan
Point Guard: B.J. Armstrong, Kirk Hinrich, Steve Kerr, John Paxson, Norm Van Lier
    Our vote
No-brainer: For the rest of NBA history there is no shooting guard that will compete with Michael Jordan, let alone anyone on the Chicago Bulls.
Close call: Dennis Rodman only lasted three seasons in Chicago, but he helped transform the Bulls into the most unstoppable team ever. Horace Grant would have been the pick if he was part of the 72-10 team.

Vote for your all-time Bulls team.

Brad Daugherty would have dominated if he stayed healthy.
    -Cleveland Cavaliers
    Years active: 1971-2010
    Playoff appearances: 18
    Championships: 0
    MVP Award Winners: 2
    LeBron James 2x (2008-2009, 2009-2010)
    Starting five choices:
Center: Jim Chones, Brad Daugherty, Zydrunas Ilgauskas
Power Forward: Tyrone Hill, Shawn Kemp, Larry Nance, Cliff Robinson, John Williams
Small Forward: LeBron James, Mike Mitchell, Lamond Murray, Campy Russell
Shooting Guard: World B. Free, Austin Carr, Craig Ehlo, Ron Harper
Point Guard: Andre Miller, Mark Price, Terrell Brandon, John Bagley
    Our vote
No-brainer: LeBron James has won as many Most Valuable Player awards as any Cavalier small forward has made All-Star appearances.
Close call: Lots of back and fourth between Ron Harper and World B. Free. Although his tenure in Cleveland lasted just three seasons, Free averaged at least 22 points per game every year with the Cavaliers.

Vote for your all-time Cavalier team.

Isiah Thomas was the fiercest competitor in Detroit history.
    -Detroit Pistons
    Years active: 1949-2010
    Playoff appearances: 40
    Championships: 3
    MVP Award Winners: 0
    Starting five choices:
Center: Walter Dukes, Larry Foust, Bill Laimbeer, Bob Lanier, Rasheed Wallace
Power Forward: Dave DeBusschere, Bailey Howell, Dennis Rodman, Ray Scott, Terry Tyler, Ben Wallace
Small Forward: Adrian Dantley, Grant Hill, Tayshaun Prince, Kelly Tripucka, George Yardley
Shooting Guard: Joe Dumars, Richard Hamilton, Vinnie Johnson, Jerry Stackhouse, Gene Shue
Point Guard: Chauncey Billups, Dave Bing, Kevin Porter, Isiah Thomas
    Our vote
No-brainer: Isiah Thomas is the greatest pure point guard of all-time. If a certain 69 Laker had played any other position, Thomas would go down as the best ever.
Close call: Joe Dumars has the edge on Richard Hamilton simply because he was the Finals MVP during 1989. Hamilton was a key piece to the Pistons championship team in 2004 but Chauncey Billups took home the hardware.

Vote for your all-time Pistons team.

Reggie Miller drained 2,560 three-pointers during his career, more than anyone else in NBA history.
    -Indiana Pacers
    Years active: 1977-2010
    Playoff appearances: 18
    Championships: 0
    MVP Award Winners: 0
    Starting five choices:
Center: Mel Daniels, Antonio Davis, Bob Netolicky, Rik Smits, Herb Williams
Power Forward: Dale Davis, George McGinnis, Jermaine ONeal, Detlef Schrempf
Small Forward: Roger Brown, Danny Granger, Clark Kellogg, Chuck Person, Jalen Rose
Shooting Guard: Mike Dunleavy Jr. Stephen Jackson, Billy Knight, John Long, Reggie Miller
Point Guard: Don Buse, Vern Fleming, Mark Jackson, Billy Keller, Freddie Lewis, Jamaal Tinsley
    Our vote
No-brainer: Reggie Miller played 1,389 games with the Pacers, second most one player has ever spent on the same team. Miller and Indiana are synonymous.
Close call: Chuck Person in his prime was capable of matching anyone in the league point-for-point. But in just five seasons, Danny Granger has taken major strides towards Persons top spot among Pacer small...
